Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about our approach

  • We strive to understand our patients’ diverse paths and value systems in order to provide recommendations that support their unique needs. We work with patients battling cancer who require nuanced pharmacologic recommendations that will not interfere with their oncology treatment. We work with people making complex decisions about medications during their fertility journey, pregnancy, and peripartum. We work with people who prefer to eschew prescribed medications altogether to focus on natural therapies and nutrition. We work with people who want to focus on psychotherapy only, or deepen their mindfulness work. We work with people who want to mend their relationship with unmedicated sleep. We work with people who are exploring the idea of neurodivergence for the first time. We work with survivors of medical trauma who are deeply ambivalent about seeing a physician.

    Everyone is welcome.

Our goal is to see you in your entirety, in your complexity, and help you uncover your own roadmap to wellness.

  • Integrative psychiatry is mental health care that offers a broader lens of healing beyond just medication and psychotherapy.  Research increasingly shows what humans have always intuited: that community, nature, food, art, and plants are powerful medicine.  Integrative care emphasizes that our mind and body are not just connected but part of a larger whole that needs tending.  In doing so, we acknowledge that mental health care needs to be aligned with your values and personally meaningful to be effective.

Non-pharmacologic approaches can include nutritional guidance, light therapy, evidence based herbal treatments, talk therapy, meditation, and creative expression.

  • We see patients for psychotherapy only upon request.

  • Yes, we offer one time consultations for patients who want a second opinion on their care, are looking for diagnostic clarity but prefer not to continue with treatment at this time, or are interested in a one time meeting for reproductive psychiatry consultation.
